MuSE Connects International Students to Transform Local Potential into Social Venture Ideas

On 12 August 2026, the Faculty of Multidisciplinary Sciences and Entrepreneurship (MuSE), in collaboration with the Language Center of Thaksin University, organized “MuSE BMC Camp 2026” as part of the International Social Innovation Camp 2026, welcoming 21 international students. The program promoted entrepreneurship, social innovation, and collaboration in a multicultural environment through field-based learning at Phanang Tung Botanical Garden and Varni Craft, a community enterprise specializing in krajood handicrafts. Participants applied insights from the field visits to analyze local challenges, identify business opportunities, design Business Model Canvases, and develop product or service prototypes before presenting their ideas at the Grand Pitch Competition. Dr. Wasin Praditsil served as the lead facilitator, supported by a team comprising Assistant Professor Dr. Morakot Disthaapichai, Dr. Sunsanee Wongsawat, Dr. Bradley Eugene Opatz Jr., and Ms. Hormungphi M. Shimray (Amung). The program highlighted MuSE’s role in connecting local potential with international perspectives and empowering young people to develop socially responsible and sustainable venture ideas.

The program began with a field visit to Phanang Tung Botanical Garden, where participants explored local ecosystems, biodiversity, and natural resource conservation.
They then visited Varni Craft to learn about local wisdom, krajood craftsmanship, and community-based value creation.
The 21 international students applied their field experiences to analyze local challenges, community needs, and potential business opportunities.
Participants strengthened their entrepreneurial thinking and collaboratively designed business models using the Business Model Canvas.
Each team developed a product or service prototype and received coaching on business model development and effective pitching.
The program concluded with the Grand Pitch Competition and a reflection session focusing on entrepreneurship, teamwork, and cross-cultural communication.
